Karachi
Karachi (Urdu: کراچی / ALA-LC: Karācī IPA: [kəˈrɑːˌtʃi]) is the largest city of Pakistan and the capital of the province of Sindh as well as one of the largest and most populous metropolitan cities in the world. It is also the main seaport and financial center of the country. Karachi metro has an estimated population of over 23.5 million people as of 2013, and area of approximately 3,527 km2 (1,362 sq mi), resulting in a density of more than 6,000 people per square kilometre (15,500 per square mile).
Karachi is the 7th largest urban agglomeration in the world, and the second largest in the Muslim world. It is Pakistan's centre of banking, industry, economic activity and trade and is home to Pakistan's largest corporations, including those involved in textiles, shipping, automotive industry, entertainment, the arts, fashion, advertising, publishing, software development and medical research. The city is a hub of higher education in South Asia and the Muslim world.
Karachi is also ranked as a beta world city. It was the capital of Pakistan until Islamabad was constructed as a capital to spread development evenly across the country and to prevent it from being concentrated in Karachi. Karachi is the location of the Port of Karachi and Port Bin Qasim, two of the region's largest and busiest ports. After the independence of Pakistan, the city population increased dramatically when hundreds of thousands of Muslim Muhajirs from India and from other parts of South Asia came to settle in Karachi.

Pakistan plans to construct waste to energy power plant projects in Lahore and Karachi. Along with Lahore, Karachi and other provinces of the country have also planned to set up waste-to-energy plants. Initially, 250 MW projects will be set up. Generating electricity through bio-power in Pakistan will not only provide cheap electricity but will also destroy the irregular substances that cause environmental pollution. The first license to generate energy from waste in Pakistan was issued in 2018 to the Chinese company Zi Zhong Renewable Energy Company Pvt Ltd and Engro Energy. Pakistan plans to construct waste to energy power plant projects in Lahore and Karachi. Along with Lahore, Karachi and other provinces of the country have also planned to set up waste-to-energy plants. Initially, 250 MW projects will be set up.
Generating electricity through bio-power in Pakistan will not only provide cheap electricity but will also destroy the irregular substances that cause environmental pollution.
The first license to generate energy from waste in Pakistan was issued in 2018 to the Chinese company Zi Zhong Renewable Energy Company Pvt Ltd and Engro Energy.
According to the plan, Engro Energy Karachi and Zee Zong have signed agreements to generate electricity from bio-power waste to energy 250MW in Lahore and Karachi.
The plant constructed in Lahore will initially generate 40 megawatts of electricity, while the project will also help in the disposal of waste.

Karachi is the location of the Port of Karachi and Port Bin Qasim, two of the region's largest and busiest ports. After the independence of Pakistan, the city population increased dramatically when hundreds of thousands of Muslim Muhajirs from India and from other parts of South Asia came to settle in Karachi.
